Government Funding Agencies

Delivers grant programs through funding from the Alberta Government Climate Change and Emissions Management Fund, aimed at accelerating the development of innovative technologies that reduce greenhouse gas emissions and secure Alberta’s success in a lower carbon economy.

Through funding from the carbon levy (tax), delivers programs and services to assist Albertans and businesses save money and reduce emissions by implementing energy efficiency initiatives and small-scale renewable energy projects .

A partnership between the Government of Alberta, the Alberta Association of Municipal Districts and Counties (AAMDC), and the Alberta Urban Municipalities Association (AUMA) that provides funding, technical assistance, and education to support Alberta municipalities in addressing climate change.

Government Grant Programs

Shares the cost of investments that improve energy efficiency on Alberta farms. This enables producers to conserve energy and reduce carbon emissions, ultimately reducing the environmental footprint of Alberta’s agriculture industry.

Pilot program that provides grants to Alberta Indigenous communities or organization to install solar photovoltaic (PV) systems on facilities owned by the community or organization.

Provides funding towards solar photovoltaics on Alberta farms. This enables producers to conserve non-renewable fossil fuels and reduce carbon emissions, ultimately reducing the environmental footprint of Alberta's agriculture industry.

Pilot program that provides tools and funding to help Indigenous communities understand how energy is used in their buildings and identify opportunities to save energy and financial resources.

Government Regulatory Agencies

Operated by CSA Group in partnership with the Government of Alberta, provides the infrastructure to support the purchase of approved Alberta based carbon offset credits that are real, demonstrable and quantifiable reductions of emissions. 

Ensures that power demands in Alberta are met with with a reliable supply of electricity by conducting long-term system planning for Alberta's electric system and managing/operating Alberta's power market on a daily basis.

Regulates investor-owned natural gas, electric and water utilities and certain municipally owned electric utilities to ensure that customers receive safe and reliable service at just and reasonable rates by protecting the public interest and safety.

Provides Education, advocacy, and mediation to Alberta’s residential, farm, and small business electricity and natural gas consumers.

Industry Associations

A diverse group of stakeholders actively working to maximize energy efficiency in Alberta by reducing the barriers to the adoption of energy efficiency technology and activities.

Facilitate and promotes the growth of solar energy across Canada by providing education and networking opportunities, researching/developing renewable energy policy, and implementing communications activities for solar energy.

Advances the awareness, understanding and use of solar energy as well as other renewable energy and conservation technologies by serving as an educational organization that offers seminars, workshops, classes, exhibits, and public demonstrations.

A national technology accelerator and market access hub focused on solutions at the point of consumption, which includes onsite energy generation, micro-grid infrastructure, storage, and energy efficiency.

The Calgary chapter of the Building Operations & Maintenance Association, which represents the commercial real estate sector through advocacy, education and professional relationships.

The Edmonton chapter of the Building Operations & Maintenance Association, which represents the commercial real estate sector through advocacy, education and professional relationships.
